Inter Milan striker Ange-Yoan Bonny has completed his nationality switch and is now available for selection by Ivory Coast, with the national team set to announce their World Cup squad this Friday.
Bonny, who was born in France, submitted a request to change his football nationality from France—the country he represented at the under-21 level two years ago—and FIFA approved the move on Friday.
The 22-year-old, of Ivorian descent, is expected to be included in the 26-man World Cup roster.
He played a crucial role as an impact substitute for Inter this season, scoring five Serie A goals as the club clinched the league title.
Ivory Coast have been drawn in Group E of the World Cup alongside Ecuador, Germany and Curaçao.
Bonny could make his debut for his new nation before the tournament, as the Ivorians are scheduled to face France in Lens on June 4 in a friendly.
